    ensuring the lowest carbon footprint.
  • As green as can be: Non Toxic when degrading.
  • Easy to install.
  • Unique wrap-around design.

Overview

Rainbow’s Vole Guard is designed to protect young trees from the damage of browsing animals such as voles and mice, it prevents them from ring barking the trees. They are suitable for use in a wide range of conditions, however, they are best suited in overgrown areas, as this is where voles are most commonly found. The standard size of our Vole Guard is 38mmx20cm (however, 30, 45, and 60cm sizes are also available), it offers a natural overlap that can provide continuous protection as the tree grows and a wrapping mechanism that ensures easy installation.

Features

Toxicity

Unlike oil-based plastics, the bio Vole Guard is entirely non-toxic when degraded. In fact, after degradation, only water, Co2 and biomass remain causing no harm to the environment.

Raw Materials

We use plants (not oil) to make our plant-based product, using 100% biodegradable materials. Next to its green credentials using plant-based products is the most sustainable way and solves the use of finite petrol/oil based solutions. The materials used are certified as being 100% Biobased and compostable.

Carbon Footprint

Our Plant-based materials have a carbon footprint of up to 5x lower than oil-based plastics. Adding the fact that the bio Vole Guard is 100% recycled makes this solution the most sustainable option on the market.

In-field performance

Our Vole Guards are fit for purpose and designed to last around 3-4 years.

No Competition with food sources

Using plant-based materials is already the most sustainable solution with regards to using renewable sources. To further reduce its carbon footprint we have made the bio Vole Guard a 100% recycled plant-based solution. By only using post-industrial waste and off-cuts from factories manufacturing products from biopolymers, this would mean that the ‘plants’ used in our spirals aren’t competing with other food sources and therefore help contribute to a more productive biopolymer value chain.

A growing number of additional end-of-life options

After its useful life, the product can be recycled or composted to create healthy soil nutrients, or used for energy generation. Recent research has shown various applications made from the same base material degrade faster than an orange peel in a municipal composter.
